Make summer happen! Yebo yes

This week (Thursday I think) it was the Altech GP where they had F1 cars, bikes Harley Davidson, supercars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari and a 911 Gt2 Porsche race through the streets of Sandton. Our office block was inside the circle and we were watching from the roof. Seeing the cars from your office was something new, there were lots of people, a great vibe. Most people also booked seats at M&A (Italian restaurant, they make the best pizza)

Anyways, if you look at the front page of The Star, most people of my team was in the shot. Finally the front page! I wasn't there unfortunately, late again, when am I going to become famous? ;) I got there about 10 minutes after the shot was taken. I had no camera so I took a couple of pictures with my phone, plus a couple of clips. Now the question... Where do you post clips taken by a phone so people can view it?
My fitness is still improving, 5km run, 1km swim, week in week out. 10km cycling every day, lots of weights, I finally reached the point where the exercise is fun, even the cardio is not that bad anymore. I still find the running tough but I can manage (there is always walking).
Saturday I got up at 4:10 am. Totally nuts!!! It was so I could be in time for the 10km race (liquifruit challenge) with the people from work. It was fun, I was ten times more fit than the other people from work so it was really easy. There was no way I was going to win so I had no desire to see how quickly I could finish. I stuck around to see the other people suffer. Sybrand and I finished the race in about 1:17. I then turned around to go look for Roy and his girlfriend, they were only about a kilometer from the finish. People tend to give you this real funny look if you are jogging in the opposite direction. Roy and his better half finished in 1:27. The race itself was fun but during the race something happened that made me realize how fragile life really is. Somebody collapsed and died, runners were trying to revive him but I guess his time was up. Three Ambulances came racing but it was to late. The utter helpless feeling. There is nothing you can do. To think that he probably had a million things planned after the race, like we all do. Except there was no "after the race", one moment here, the next gone. Live every day like it might be your last, one day it will be...

Later the evening I went wake boarding at base3 Midrand. My first 4 starts were complete wipe outs. The 5'th start I somehow hot it right and I was on my way. I was enjoying my victory and went around once, the last corner is a 90 degree turn and I got it wrong so I crashed out. After the first start it was easy, I even did a standing start where you jump up in the air and the cable pulls you along. No idea how I could find the beginning so difficult? One important rule when wake boarding, do not fall when far from the start. I was at exactly the furthest point from the start when the cable slackened, the first instant I though that I got the turn wrong which means that I would probably not stay upright... except I lost more and more speed till I started sinking... No!!! they turned off the system. One of the towing cables got stuck. The swim back to the side took a good 10 minutes. The walk another 5 - 10. Grumble grumble, moan, moan! I did another couple of rounds till I could hardly hold on the cable anymore. Decided it was time to call it a day. I was so tired I fell asleep around 9pm. Must have been a first for me ;)

Also last week, horse riding round 2. Riding on a horse called Linkin, a tall and eager thoroughbred. Seeing the amount of power was truly impressive 0 to full speed in 2 seconds flat. A bit scary, I had to hold on for all I'm worth, a lot of fun though. I almost fell off once. I have a new found respect for horses.

Hello ##NAME##, This is the first time I've seen your blog - pretty cool. Power, speed and roadholding are my main interest which is why I was looking for ##LINK##, but it was good to see your blog. Keep blogging!
