Barely touching the ground

Went ice skating at Northgate (last Friday). I always thought those people doing all the tricks on the ice were really good. In fact it turns out that if you have skates that are nice and sharp you too can look like a pro! And wait there is more, if you phone now...!!! You too can.... ;)
Northgate's rental skates are actually pretty decent. They are similar to the rollerblades that you buy these days. They have proper sharp blades and it makes skating an absolute joy, so much so that I would even skip the Colonade in Tswane(Pretoria) and drive all the way to Joburg to go ice skating. I was like a little kid making S'es around all the amateurs on the ice, cannot remember when last I enjoyed ice skating that much.

Then on Saturday I decided some monkey business was in order, and went rock climbing for the first time in my life (Rodepoort area). I thought I was fit... Not a chance! All the gyming of the last 7 months was of little use! Hanging on the wall for a couple of minutes made me so tired that my arms were actually shaking. I did manage to climb a 21 difficulty. The 23 difficulty proved a bit tough and I couldn't hold on the tip I had to grab on the jump. All in all it was a lot of fun, definitely something I would do from time to time.
In case you are wondering... No the picture I borrowed off some other website. Climbing a cliff like that, you would have to have lots of experience under the belt. Without the experience it is a pretty dangerous sport.

Since I am fairly fit I also plan to start doing triathlons from next summer. Swimming, cycling and running. What is it? What! I heard that! I am not a fitness freak! I am not quite gyming 8 hours a week anymore. No it is more like 4-6 hours. I simply have way too many things keeping me busy. When I started back in January/February I weighed 67kg, since then I have added weight and I now weigh 71,5 kg. But I seem to be stuck at that weight, it hasn't moved for the last 2 months.

My oppikoppi plans progressed so far that I actually managed to get hold of some tickets. Now I still need to synchronise with all the people going, buy some "voorraad" otherwise oppikoppi might turn out to be "droog", literally. I still need to get my dad's bakkie from the farm, there is no way I am taking my Astra for a drive in the bush!

Oh yea one other thing before I forget, I finally made the time to go to Ritrovo Ristorante recommended by one of my friends at work. If you are ever looking for a nice place to take a date, this is certainly it! The food is very good, and pretty well priced too. Expect to pay R70 - R100 for a meal, but worth every penny. If you do decide to go booking is essential as they are usually fully booked. They are located in Waterkloof heights, Pretoria. Dress smart casual otherwise you might feel a bit out of place.

I guess tonight is one of those nights! I am stuck at work waiting for the Fastobjects database to update its schema. But I will refrain from using too much IT mambo jumbo in fear of being called a geek...;)
